Re: Choke control knob
Separate it and then remove the whole GAV from the carburetor. It can then be taken apart to see if/what is wrong.

Re: Sticking Valves
If using the additives don't work they can usually be freed up by just removing the side cover and working the valves manually.

Re: 30 Coupe Cooling question
It kinda sounds as if you may have a bad head gasket or a crack is the cooling system somewhere and the coolant is going out the tailpipe.

Re: Battery warmer
I agree with the others.
You have a draw or bad battery. Maybe you have both. The draw shouldn't be hard to find and fix. Also make sure the battery connections are removed and cleaned, especially...

Re: Extended warrantee
Now thats a good idea !
As soon as they say why they called I set the phone down, walk away and let them ramble on till they figure out what happened. I'll play along next time.

Re: Lake Ice Saw
Guards and OHSA. They don't need no stinking guards or OSHA !
Can they get badges though.

Re: Split Pistons and Pin Clearance - need help
Good. I imagine a spec sheet should be included. I'm curious as to what it has to say.
I think the original engines had split pistons and only .002" clearance. But, I've not had an original apart.

Re: Split Pistons and Pin Clearance - need help
No one has chimed in yet. So,,
I tend to run engines looser than most folks. All engines.
As for wrist pins, I like .001-.0015" which is a push fit. Much more than that though and they'll...

Re: Model A Aircraft Kit
As far as the single drive for the magnetos, I've flown them [ only in good visual weather]. But, It was an incredibly stupid idea.
I've also flown single magneto J2. Very underpowered. 37 HP if I...

Re: LED Turnsignals
Yep, some/most electronic STUFF is polarity sensitive.
I've recently [ last few years] seen 6v positive grd electronic flashers from England. If they work with Lucas stuff then maybe they'll work...

Re: Compression test results, opinions please.
I haven't had anything to add, so, I haven't.
I agree with running the monster for awhile. A few more thousand and another compression check. Maybe the rear rings just haven't set yet.

Re: LED Turnsignals
I don't think I have a photo, I'll have to look. I'm 1300 miles from the car until May.
I just formed a license plate bracket to the spare tire and belted it in place.
The lens even has STOP...

Re: LED Turnsignals
Yep.
Fairly easy conversion. 'A' vendors such as Brattons have the turn switch and LED rear bulbs. The LEDs make a big difference.
There may now be a 6v electronic flasher that actually works,...

Re: Model A Aircraft Kit
A friend built one about 30 yrs or so ago and I helped him install a Continental C series engine. It took him several years to build it.
I wouldn't strap my fanny in one with the Model A engine.
