I have no doubt the whole works can take off and go down the road, but stopping that train using Model A brakes even in good condition from a rolling speed of 50 mph is a disaster waiting to happen.

Let's not forget using a diode instead of a coil assembly in the cutout switch mounted on the generator. Henry Ford would definitely approve of that improvement.

It's possible the shop that manufactured the clips didn't know they were supposed to be to be manufactured from spring steel, but if they did know that information and still sent them to Model A...
