IIRC #18 is only rated for 5 amps, for 11 amps #14 would be a better choice , 15 amp rating.

Probably comes from when using wood wheels, like on a Model T, there is a lug that goes between the wheel rim and the felloe of the wood wheel, and the "lug nut" tightens down against the lug....

I would suspect that the thin flat washer is to protect the shaft from getting chewed up by the lockwasher.

My '31 CCPU has the 2 short bumpers, I mounted the license plate and light in the middle, under the end gate.

Did the 32's have a steering column lock? If not, what year did it start? I'm pretty sure (but could be wrong) that 34's had them.

Try a redo w/a hot engine, plugs out, WOT.
Did you check combustion chambers volume of the new head before you put it on?

I would suspect that the tube is either kinked or flattened somewhere, more likely kinked from being bent too sharply.
