In my 36 I am building I am using a 3.25 ratio, BUT I am also using the 29 tooth transmission cluster which in my opinion is the trick ticket with a 3.54 or 3.25 especially if you live near hills...

Re: Looking for some information on Badger grinding and Babbitt in Wi for 1934 ford b

Just a thought.. .030" Bearings will cost you a arm and a leg IF you find them. What I did last time, was pulled the crank, had the rod journals spray welded and ground back to Standard. It cost me...

Re: 1940 Front Wheel Cylinders

Are you using reproduction shoes? While a lot of the cylinders being sold are junk, there is also a issue that the portion of the shoes on the NEW reproduction shoes that the piston pushes against is...

Re: 1935-1936 Ford Running Boards

Drakes have the dip. The cheaper steel reproduction from Howell's I think do not have the dip.

Trevor if you are still searching for original curved mouldings, shoot me a email.

Re: ANOTHER Fake '40 Coupe....Mart Was Spot-on!

While it's silly it's amazing how far computer graphics have come.. If this video was shared 15 years ago people would drop their jaws.

Re: NOS front brake drums

Some 1937's are ribbed, so the only way to tell is look and measure. .. So, just because they are ribbed does not make them 36's. The 36's seem to be around in NOS form... Just last week I was...

Re: Autolite Spark Users Only

I run 386's on the Early engines with the 18MM thread size with ZERO issues. On a stock engine, a 388 Autolite should perform fine as well although it is supposedly a heat ranger hotter than should...

Re: 1940 Front Wheel Cylinders

C&G does sell decent cylinders. I dont bench bleed the master cylinder personally. I just install fill and bleed the brakes as normal.

Re: 1940 Front Wheel Cylinders

Be cautious and watch the wheel cylinders while bleeding to be sure they don’t leak past the cup. Most new ones being sold are pretty poor quality depending on where you get them

Re: 32 front wheel shimmy

Robert,
On early Fords I run the toe in at 3/16"" when running bias ply tires., and the tire pressure at 35 psi. My 33 had the "Death Wobble" at 35-45 mph. A steering gear adjustment fixed it as it...
