Re: 6.1 Head / Carburetor Choice / 600 HP V8

My Dad, who was around when Model A's were plentiful and cheap, asked me when I got the pickup I now have: "what are you going to do to 'hop it up'?"

Re: Fender cover

About a hundred years ago I bought a Craftsman cover from Sears. It has magnets to keep it in place. Works great, wish I had another one. I also have a couple of the ones that are "made for a Model...

One of the guys in our club has a 28 CCPU with 19" wheels/tires. He seems to not have a problem.

Re: Milling Snyder 6.0 Head

When I first bought my 5.5 Snyder Head, I installed it straight out of the box (after painting it). I ran it like that with no problems. When I had a new touring engine built and re-used that head,...

Re: Budd Wheel Manufacturing Company

At a minimum, the gas tank has been changed out sometime in it's life. The oval speedometer was only used up thru mid 1930.

Re: 20 or 30 Amp Fuse?

Some of the 20 amp fuse holders will not accept a 30 amp fuse. You can, however, put a 20 amp fuse in a 30 amp fuse holder.

Re: Budd Wheel Manufacturing Company

Not all Budd Cab pickups had the indented firewall. Not all indented firewalls were on Budd Cabs. Add to that mix the Wide Bed vs Short Beds that were installed on some of both Budd Cabs & the soft...

Re: SNYDER’S 5.5 head vs 6.1

I have the 5.5 head. That's all that was available 11 years ago when I needed one. It replaced a Police head that was on the engine when I bought the pickup.

Re: Longest trip you took in a Model A

We really don't have that many roads in Alaska. However, we manage to take in about 1,000 miles or more on our longer tours around the state.

Re: Light Bar Repaint Question

The horn does not depend on a ground path thru the headlight bar. I always run a separate ground for the headlights.
