38 and 40 grills are different, 39 deluxe is one year only. Consider yourself fortunate to have all the bars. The bars can be straightened to get consistent gaps.

all the glass is original ford etched and the rubber is factory original too.

Right, the idea is not to disturb the glass or rubber. It seems like heat could gas out the moisture (maybe) and re-tack the film (maybe), and as it cools - the layers would contract and re-seal...

Any way to fix delaminating glass?
I just inherited a super nice 1938 Deluxe fordor. The car is all original and I really don't want to have replace any of the glass. It is starting to delaminate in a few areas, and I'm hoping...
