That would be way too low. Someone has made this switch before and must know what works best. I assume an electric fan and shroud is the way to go.

Maybe I just got lucky, but I hand filed the trumpets flat where they mate up to the banjo housing,and 11 years and many miles later no leaks. Whatever you do use original bolts without lock washers.

I am surprised no one mentioned retarding the spark before hitting the starter. Does this imply that 12 volts make the engine kicking back a thing of the past. And only with 6 volts? I h ave done...
