Re: V-8 Times
Isn't there a significant shipping surcharge for foreign subscriptions? Better service=higher charges.

Re: Walker Radiator
"Brassworks", or maybe an original Ford product (if you can find a decent radiator shop close enough). It depends how deep your pockets are.

Re: Gosfast Gary from NY?
This the one thing I don't like about these forums; leaning bad things about good people.
Gary has done me a few favors, which I am grateful for, and I hope everything turns out good for him.

Re: Sound deadning
I remember seeing a bunch of threads on the "H.A.M.B." on this subject. As I remember, there are a number of products sold at "Home Stores" that are much cheaper and actually work better.
I...

As we used to say in the initiation for the "International Order of Turtles" : "Take a drink and start over".:o

Re: '35 Radiator / water out the tube
I hate to be the one to say this, but if the problem persists after you have everything back to normal (hint, hint - replace the restrictors with proper thermostats), the problem may be a failed head...

Re: 32 spring bushings
I would try "barnfind08" on this forum as suggested in post #6. He has a company called "Southside Obsolete" that has a lot of NOS parts.

Re: '35 Radiator / water out the tube
If Henry Ford and his engineers had figured that "Washers" worked as well (or nearly as well) as thermostats in these cars, the old cheapskate would have used them.

Re: '35 Radiator / water out the tube
It sounds like you made two changes at the same time ("reconditioned" the radiator and installed restrictors). Unfortunately, when you do that, you don't really know what solved the problem (if it is...

Re: ultimate flathead
I have known guys like this. I was trying to buy a 392 Hemi from a guy once. After listening to his BS for about 15 minutes ("the driveshaft was twisted like a barber pole"), I gave up and went home.

Re: ultimate flathead
I guess the old theory about headers not helping performance on a flathead is true. This thing appears to have stock exhaust manifolds.

Re: ultimate flathead
Getting that kind of RPM's is easy; just use a tachometer for a 4 cylinder engine.:D

Re: Who can repair the fuel sending units
I repaired a temperature sending unit (they work on the same principle) a few years ago; it was just a matter of cleaning the points. There was even a tiny set screw to adjust them. The BIG problem...

Re: Calling Ol'Ron, calling Ol'Ron...
Ask your machinist why he wants to stick with the small overbore. Has he documented thin cylinder walls or a core shift with sonic testing, or is he just applying his experience with modern thin wall...

Re: How To Remove Cosmoline
After seeing all of this, I guess I was lucky that nobody was able to deliver on the "Harley 45's packed in Cosmoline" they talked about when I was in high school.

Re: Toilet paper oil filter adapter
Read my post #12 again. My dad sold and used these for several years without such an occurrence or any complaints.
Put a roll of toilet paper in your OEM housing at your own peril.

Re: Correct replacement for Fram C181-A?
I get my oil filters from NAPA. I just ask for one for a Ford tractor and I get the right one. (They know a lot about tractors, but not old cars.) I have never gotten one that didn't come with two...
