Re: Popping carb
Ayers, welcome to the forum.
If you have about a full tank then put in about 4 oz of Mystery Marvell oil in the tank.
Check your vacuum line from the intake all the way to the wiper to make...

Re: throw-out bearing
Is the throwout bearing suppose to be pressed on the bearing collar or does it just easily slip on the collar? Mine slipped on.

Re: 32 model b engine
ED, I have a B carb and the intake is bored to match.
It is on an A engine and the GAV for me is 1/4 turn start, then close or leave it alone.

Re: throw-out bearing
The starter bolts are the same as I had before.
But, I would think that if I had to long a bolt the noise would be the same all the time, and not just get louder when you press in the clutch.

Re: throw-out bearing
Please don't tell me I have to tear everything apart again. What are your thoughts.
I installed a new National BCA 2065 bearing and a new centerforce clutch disk, similar to my old disk. Except...

Re: Dirty Carburetors
No, that is something you really don't want to do. You don't need more points of failure next to the exhaust, plus it looks goofy.
I have had better luck with Snyders vs the wix brand #33039.

Re: Dirty Carburetors
The key is to make sure you have all the proper filters installed.
Pencil filter in the tank, sediment bowl screen and filter and carb filter.
With todays roads a carb air filter is probably...

Re: leaking head gasket?
I agree 100% on what you said.
Babbits or inserts, a bad engine will have trouble with a 4.2 head.

Re: new to the model a/forum
Best of luck with your new truck, and welcome to the forum.
Don't worry, if it didn't leak, didn't need better brakes, and didn't need help with the steering it would not be a Model A.

Re: Headlight Help
I went through the same as what Carl mentioned, except I used Logolite.
Yes, you loose the ability to zero in on a light alignment, but the benefits of the LED out weigh that for me.
The LED...

Re: leaking head gasket?
I wouldn't go to a 5.5, but go to a 6.1 instead.
The cost is the same, but the performance is better. I originally had a 4.2, then changed it to a 5.5 and was very happy with the difference. ...

Re: throw-out bearing
Now I am worried. I am going to change it for a Federal Mogul bearing.
I just ordered a NAPA N1087 Tbearing. The box says SKF. The bearing says A-2256 Aetna USA.
