Re: Throw out bearing spring replacement
The reproduction springs have too long a tail on them.
Do yourself a favor and cut the tails shorter before you try to install. Otherwise you will be fighting it tremendously . I use a heavy...

It is a marvel scheibler sold by western auto, sears, etc back in the aftermarket replacement days. Decent carbs but not typically any parts available for them .

The 2 pin notch was universal to be used on b as well. You will notice if you look at the slot opening there is probably a step. It should be filed down to work on an A otherwise it will force...

Re: Zenith carb
Are you sure It’s the drain plug?
Put a finger in the carb throat and see if it’s wet on the bottom . If it is wet , it is not your drain plug. It is your float valve or float level.

I think Brent gave you the correct advise. Unless you have a sticking valve the marvel oil won’t do anything. It sounds like you need more from the gav carb adjustment which is the dash Choke...

Re: Difficult time getting gas gauge bezel off
You can try a heat gun ( no flame!) to heat the outer ring a little. Should be safe as long as tank isn’t leaking fuel. Best if it’s an old tank that hasn’t had fuel in it for a while. fuel weeping...
