What ratio gear for the rear end would make engine run at around 2000+ rpm or is this not advisable

in 57 mercury made a turnpike cruiser, was the automatic transmission the same as the 56 or did they upgrade the transmission so the engine runs at a slower speed, my 56 312 turns 3000 at 70 mph

Found out the sending unit for a merc is different than ford, got sending unit from Classic Mercury

sounds like you have the unit that goes in head, you can get a shorter sending unit from speedway that will work with external gauge

Ralph, use a 6011 welding rod it is made for rusty nasty metal, works very well

i have a 1928 Model AA Doodle Bug real nice condition its made out of 1928 AA has 4 speed transmission with place for PTO. It had speed reducer that was made for using a model A three speed car...

i am putting on a 5 inch water pump pulley on my 56 merc 312 with alternator how long of a belt do i need to get
