Re: Thinking about investors.

I don't think the average guy has any idea of the complexity of the cores required for a V-8. I got to watch hundreds formed and poured at Cleveland and the process is amazing. The cores are made...

Re: Insert bearings

So my take from this is if the inserts need to be fit by machining then the advantage of having inserts so they can be changed out quickly just got thrown out the window.

Re: Flowing Jets

When I did my jets, after soldering the end shut I used a drill bit on the inside of the jet, larger than the intended jet hole to clean out and smooth the inside before using the proper bit to size...

Re: Kind of a Model A question

I've got a 12 volt winch I'm trying to get rid of. If you weren't so far I'd send it to you. I suspect it will cost a lot for shipping because of the weight.

Re: First post - opinions on suspension and braking

See if you can find a local club for some help. It might surprise you how little it needs to make it drive able.

Re: High speed engine skip

James, a quick and dirty trick to try. Put a glove on your left hand, with the engine running rev it up, stick your left hand over the carb. intake and pull it off just before it dies. Try this a...

Re: Transmission question

Could be a number of things other than the trans. How fast is your idle set at, how heavy is the trans. oil, is the clutch adjusted for the right amount of pedal?
You need a heavy oil to slow the...

Re: Distributor to spark plug connections

Bend them slightly so there is a slight force pushing towards the plug and they will stay put. Never saw one come off before and I used to drive a lot of gravel roads.

Re: cleaning block w/o head on

I would not add the 2-3 cups and drive it see if it stays. That was the first mistake I made when I bought my Model A, trying to keep it too full.

Re: knock at start up

Have you checked the water pump? After rebuilding my transmission I got a knock. Figured it had to be the transmission so I pulled the rear end and trans out. Couldn't find anything so I started it...

Re: 31 distributor

OK< so it was running but stalled when you stopped. Seems you should be looking at carb float first??

Re: We Need a Horn for Tailgaters

No need to worry Tom, in a few years we won't need to drive, they will all drive themselves. "What me worry"

Re: know your shipper

I don't call that a scam at all. Buyer beware, sometimes a price that is too good, is just that too good!

Aermore Exhaust Whistle

The whistle works. It is attached to a homemade adapter to mount it to the end of the tailpipe. I'll sell with or without the adapter. The price is the same either way, just will save in shipping...

Re: How do Wheel Bearings Survive?

Wow, someone admits to using grease in their steering box and doesn't get flamed. I wondered the same, if it gets pushed aside and it's inside an enclosed box, it can only go to the other side of the...

Re: Seat belts ?

Try Juliano's - www.Julianos.com (http://www.Julianos.com) for retractable seat belts. I got the idea for how to install them in my Tudor from a Fordbarner. Forgot his name and haven't seen any of...

Re: Head Bolts won't line up

Are you not concerned that the holes in the block are a course thread? I don't know this for a fact but would suspect it would be harder to get proper torque?

Re: Driving an "a" in snow..?

I used cotton....I suspect nylon would last longer! Mine lasted about 24 miles mostly on pavement.
