Re: Car Is Shrinking........

I might try that. The problem I have is that I have such flat arches that the I the only thing that works for me is boots. I'd be fine in sneakers as long as I'm driving, but if I had to get out to...

Re: Car Is Shrinking........

Probably so, but oddly enough that isn't my issue. It is on my '55 Chevy truck, though.... Maybe I need to wear ballerina slippers when I drive!

Re: Car Is Shrinking........

I think that's my only issue. Sure, I'm 6' and 280, but I can drive the car even though it's cramped, but for some reason suddenly I can't feel safe with the shifter being this close & I can't move...

Re: Car Is Shrinking........

Did you have to heat it up or just start tweaking on it?

Re: Car Is Shrinking........

I have heard of that modification. I guess it is a possibility. Wonder if I have to take the transmission out to do that?

Re: Car Is Shrinking........

I'm 52 with a desk job and I'm falling farther behind everyday. I've got to decide to really work on my health or sell the 'A' & 'T' and get a roomier 40's car. :(

Re: Car Is Shrinking........

I have seen a factory Service Bulletin about moving or modifying the seat somewhat for one model or another. The big problem I think I am facing is that the gearshift is just too close.

Car Is Shrinking........

......or I'm getting too big for my '28 Sport Coupe! I bought this car 3 years ago and I was able to drive it, but somehow over the winter, I no longer fit. I have put on some weight I know. The...

Re: Headlights / Grille Shell

I guess I hadn't thought or that. I don't know. They've been painted silver, but do look pretty straight. It's a thought.

Headlights / Grille Shell

I am wanting to buy these new for my '28. They have been out of stock for awhile. Any idea when they'll be back in stock? When the last guy restored my car he painted those parts. At least I still...

Re: Model T winter clinic

I wish I could go to that, but I'm busy. :( Do they offer one of these at any other times?

Re: Flickering Headlights

When I'm selecting the position I want it doesn't pop in, but I can feel a slight indent. Is rebuilding or replacing the switch something that can be done with the steering column still in the car? I...

Re: Traveling As

I thought about a set up like this to park my Model T and Model A in the garage, having them slightly offset, but I still don't have a long enough garage. :(

Re: My 1928 A Tudor steers very hard What ca I do?

I'm going to be studying these responses carefully. When I got my restored '28 Sport Coupe in 2021 I was impressed with how it didn't wander down the highway and that the steering had no play in it....

Flickering Headlights

The headlights flicker quite a bit till I get the lever placed just right. Anyone else have this at some point? Maybe it just needs a new switch? Is that hard to replace?

Re: Leg Room Question

I am about your build and have a '26 Roadster. It is a bit tight, but not horrible. I can still operate things fairly well. Is it true that the '26 & '27 are smaller than the earlier T's?

Re: Model "A" Goals For 2024

Just drive it more. This year I hardly ran two tanks of gas through it. Starting a new postilion at work has me busy, stressed and a bit depressed. I think about joining a club, but I'm on the fence...

Re: Warm-Up Time

It's looking like I either need to run mine for 5 minutes in the morning or........move farther away from work!

Re: Warm-Up Time

My one concern is it could cause the plugs to foul, but I suppose there are other issues to consider. I know I'll be cold, but I'll live. Just don't want to be hard on the car and cause premature...

Warm-Up Time

I'd like to drive my car more and drive it to work, but the days are short and it gets dark early. New LED headlight bulbs are in the mail so that will help. The other aspect of this is that I only...

Re: Air Filter or not

My '28 came to me with a baffle of sorts over the carb opening. No air filter. Would even that restrict airflow enough to be noticeable?

Throttle Lever Sneaks Down.....

On my '28 Sport Coupe the throttle lever keeps dropping and thus raising the idle speed. Not ideal for shifting. What causes this? Can it be adjusted/fixed in any way?

Re: Help, Please.

I do shut the gas off (throttle it down) and sometimes even the spark. I think my problem is that I'm shifting too soon. Next time I'm out I'll try that. Maybe the clutch also needs adjusting?

Re: Help, Please.

I e been on the fence about this. I’ve heard that I should be shifting into high before I get across the intersection. In other words, just get it rolling and then shift. How fast in low, then? I...

Help, Please.

Is there someone that lives close by in Iowa that can come and drive my '26 Roadster and tell me what might be wrong with it? I would also benefit from being able to ride in one and see how it...
