28 - 29 Pickup top irons

Attached are photos of my main top bow for my RDSTR/PU. On those photos I have marked in near proximity holes of 1/4" diameter that were drilled for whatever reason. Those marks do not indicate the...

Re: 32 Sedan Plodder Flatty. Will packing the relief valve improve idle oil pressure?

I would try an 8BA pump. The one you used doesn't look like the 8ba one.

Re: 59A Plodder: Low Oil pressure! Can I fix it?

Mart, did you happen to shim the pressure relief valve in the block up front. A stiffer spring there will prevent the front relief from defeating the pumps ability to hold pressure. Especially at...

Re: Excessive crank end float.

Deuce5window.....The way the bearing fits the saddle would require the bearing thrust to be bent outward and then machined parallel to the crank thrust surface. I dont like the need to make the shim...

Re: Excessive crank end float.

Just a little input on this very interesting problem Mart.
I like the idea of building up the thrust surface of the bearing to restore the proper thrust, but I would do it a little differently. With...

Re: 1928-29 Ford roadster door bumpers

On the forward jam, the bumper hole is 2 inches below the hole for the bottom screw of the hinge. The other is on the rear jam, 2 inches below the top of the cab rail.

Re: What is it?

My guess would be the under support brackets for the floor boards.

Re: Death of Dan Krehbiel

He has always been one of my favorite people. My wife and i did some long distance touring with Dan and his wife Bonnie. Dan was a great resource and dear friend. Another big hole in my heart for a...

Re: Reflecting cylinder walls

It only needs a new head gasket. Why are you trying to find trouble? Replace the gasket and drive to your heart's content.

Re: Pendine Prep 11. Top end tidy up. Cylinder heads milled and fitted.

Mart, you make no clarifying comment in your video regarding whether or not you did any measuring for quench or valve to head clearances. Could you comment a bit on what assumptions were made, and...

Re: 28/29 RPU Irons

I have seen a lot of activity on the Open Cab Pickups and I would like to see what the demand is for the irons.

28/29 RPU Irons

If made available, assuming they were affordable, who would be looking for 28/29 open cab top irons.

Re: Self sealing pan gaskets

I think some respondents are not familiar with the new gasket being discussed. It's not a true cork gasket. Unlike the real cork gaskets, the new ones are a new material. They will take more torque...

Re: Your painted front bumper

Personally, as much as i love black, not so on a bumper. I'd go silver or the powder chrome. You did not state your car's theme, original or hotrod, so i'm assuming original as to my preference.

Re: Plating parts

If you want the best results, disassembly will always be to your benefit. Also, never send the plater a component that is not to be plated. You'll never see it again. So disassemble.
