Re: water pump

You should have gotten the bushing that you need with your temperature gauge. If I weren’t so busy this weekend, I’d drive up and drop it off for you. I probably have 6 of them.

Re: The Terry Burtz 5 main bearing engine blocks are back on track.

Pete, I had 40+ psi @2200 rpm warm oil. About 35 psi at 1500 rpm warm oil. With the Scat Volkswagen adjustable external valve I have 20+ psi from idle increasing to cruising speed 60+ mph. At a slow...

Re: The Terry Burtz 5 main bearing engine blocks are back on track.

Yes there is that chance. And there will be a seminar at the convention with Terry Burtz and the new engine, including at least 2 cars there with a running Burtz engine, both of which I was told...

Re: The Terry Burtz 5 main bearing engine blocks are back on track.

The iron foundries here are one thing another are the crankshaft and the connecting rods. Add up the cost of having all of the parts cast or forged and machined and I think you will find it will cost...

Re: BURTZ Engine info Q....

The original Model A bolt is 7/16-14. The guide online for installing an oil filter recommend drilling the block to the size required for a 7/16” helicoil. Then tap the threads for a helicoil that is...

Re: Engine question

Who’s crank broke on you? I had one break also. I’d like to know where you get a Scat crankshaft for that amount of money. Snyder’s price is $1,700, and if you price one from Scat they want about...

Re: BURTZ Engine info Q....

Stay tuned, I know they are working on it. I don’t know the price or who will be selling them. I had mine made by a machinist local. He used 7/8” hex in case I ever wanted to go the next size bigger...

Re: Engine question

I have a new Burtz Block Kit. I can’t say enough how much better it is than rebuilding an old engine. There is no way I would throw the money away on an old Original Model A engine. This engine has...

Re: The new Burtz Mosel A engine

I’m not far behind on getting mine running. I have about a half of a day buttoning up the engine itself and then getting it in the frame and all hooked up. Only thing I need to fabricate is the oil...

Re: The new Burtz Mosel A engine

Yes, they are made in China

Tail Dragger, I can see part of your problem. You need to take each one of your inserts and check for fit in the notches. Don’t force them in, you could have a burr in...

They sell through Amazon. That’s where I bought mine from I think both times at least the last time. You can ask questions there and get a reply.

If I may, I would like to add as I was taught and have built more engines that I can remember in the past, but each and every engine I have put together I checked clearance with plastic gage. Every...
