Re: Voltmeter wiring

You can connect a voltmeter to any electrical source. The accessory terminal of the starter switch is a good source. I would recommend a 12 gauge wire, but a 14 will do just as well. The gauge has...

Re: Front engine mount for 292 Y-block

The 54 car (not Tbird) steady rest is different than the 55/56 although they look similar. Found this out when I put a 56 engine in my 54.

Early birds do not use a front steady rest - it is...

Re: Connecting wire to oil pressure sending unit

That's another reason why I don't buy from Mac's. No tech like CASCO and Hill's.

Re: Resistor for coil on 1956 Thunderbird

My mistake - the connectors do point to the left fender. The second picture shows the original type resistor, which is still available from the Tbird parts suppliers.

Re: Connecting wire to oil pressure sending unit

The oil sender wire is a separate item and can be purchased from the parts suppliers with the correct end.

Re: Replacement radiator fan for 292

Do you have any washers (a lock washer) under the head of the bolts? Like dmsfrr (https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/member.php?u=24155) said, it seems like the bolt is bottoming out before drawing the...

Re: 120 mile round trip

A mistake made by new owners of 51-58 Fords with automatic - they are three speeds, not two. In drive, the car starts out in 2nd, but 1st gear is available if you start out in low. Automatic 56's...

Re: 56 fender apron retainer

Early 55-57 Thirds use a similar piece. I don't know if it's the same or different. It's reproduced. Both sides the same. Called Metal Retainer for Apron Seal.

Might want to check with...
