Re: Shock needle valve

Engine number is A4128761. How can I determine the build date of the car from this number? Also how does one know if this is not a replacement engine.

Re: Shock needle valve

Thanks Brentwood Bob. So where should I look for the frame number? I assume it's original since it had a frame off restoration completed in 2015.

Shock needle valve

Can someone tell me how to determine what needle valve I need for a 30 Roadster shock? I know it's not the pointer one. That was used only on 1928 A's.The square head was used until October of 1930....

Re: 30A Roadster Shocks

Thanks....not a bad idea. I will definitely give them a call. By the way I do love the color scheme and the tan top on the Vicky. Kinda matches a Roadster I know

Re: 30A Roadster Shocks

Thanks shew01. I suppose they are in this good shape because there's only 600 miles on the A since frame off resto. It's just odd to see them with no oil considering what was invested in the car.

Re: 30A Roadster Shocks

So would you say that the hex style kit would be the correct one? It covers 30, 31 plus. My Roadster had a square on one side and a hex on the other. Just trying to be sure before I drop a hundred...

Re: 30A Roadster Shocks

Really appreciate all the responses but I'm a little confused. These shocks came apart quite easy and seem to be in good shape. Just with no shock oil. All hardware is there (arms and dogbones)....

Re: 30A Roadster Shocks

Thanks Bill. Can you sorta guide me to the shock section on the MAFCA site. There's a lot of good info and one can get lost and sidetracked in that maze. Appreciate it

30A Roadster Shocks

Hey everyone I just pulled the rear shocks off my 30 Delux Roadster and there was absolutely no oil in either. They look ok (no obvious wear). Should I replace them or get a rebuild kit from one of...

Re: Seatbelts in a Roadster

The link worked for me. However the info seemed to be for 3 point retractable belts. I'm installing lap belts only since it's a Roadster.

Seatbelts in a Roadster

Anyone know how to install seatbelts in a 30 Roadster? Links to sites with videos would be helpful. Purchased a set from Macs that came with hardware but no installation instructions.

Smile Re: Gas tank sizes

The Roadster does have the spark arrester and the Coupe does not. I'm sure it must to have had one at some point. That is why my "dowel stick gauge" would not go down as far as it does in the Coupe....

Re: Gas tank sizes

Never thought of that. The Roadster has the spare in the wheel well so it is a little hard to look in the tank. Thanks

Gas tank sizes

Just purchased a sweet 30 A Roadster that had a total frame off resto 2007-2011 and was garaged from then until I acquired it. My question is: did the Roadster have a smaller gas tank than the...

Bear with me here Patrick. I'm a newbie on the A. I've adjusted the linkage to where the clutch engages at about half way. Trans shifts fine. However the fingers are still at about 3/8 inch gap from...
