Re: Electric wiper conversion

I think the kits are a good idea. I tried to save money by installing 2 electric 79.00 wiper motors like you see in a boat windshield or in a backhoe cab. A lot of swearing and butchery and in the...

Re: Marvel Classic Motor Oil

Funny, and I'm there with so many of you but this thread was started about a Motor Oil, not an additive. I had never heard of the motor oil that Marvel has introduced until this thread came out. I...

Re: Marvel Classic Motor Oil

I recently placed a 210 cu in cummins 6 cyl turbo diesel into my '47 tonner. When it was on the run stand I filled the 1 qt fuel tank with various 'fuels' just for fun. It ran great on diesel, loved...

Re: 1938 Tonner Bed Floor Question

Not to flog a dead horse, but I was looking through some really old pics last night and came across this. It's the 9' bed I mentioned earlier. You can see it was originally a lighter greenish blue....

Re: '40 front fenders

Been dragging out more parts and pieces. I had a stack of hoods that looked like an armadillo, and the bottom one was the best. I am a visual person and I have to keep a project looking like progress...

Re: 36 Can't Stop The Oil Pan Drain Plug Drip

Couldn't agree more. What an amazing material. Oil seals, accelerator pumps. I used it for a rod bearing 20 years ago for a one lung engine on a Bean spray pump.

Re: '40 front fenders

I thought those guys got all nasty and mean if it wasn't 'pre-war'.... I kind of stopped doing the FTE when way too many builds were mustang 2 front clips and slammed to the basement and 22" wheels....

Re: 36 Can't Stop The Oil Pan Drain Plug Drip

Once on a family trip we stopped at a jiffy lube for an oil change. 200 miles later we stopped for lunch and drip drip drip. Bad. It was easy to see they put NO gasket at all on the plug. I asked my...

Re: '40 front fenders

Re: 1938 Woodie - closing gap in wood frame

I would think it's best to draw the parts back together. Is this a concourse restoration? There are some pretty neat hidden mechanical fasteners such as 'tite-joint connectors' that may be able to be...

Re: '40 front fenders

I should be done stripping the frame this afternoon. At that time I will clean up the rubble, sort out some parts and store it away for a few months. I now have the basics to work out a front clip to...

Re: '40 front fenders

The old wagon was a part of family history. Yesterday I drove it to where I started cutting it up in front of the shop. Everything still worked. Heater, directionals, Hi-Lo beams, all running gear,...

Re: '40 front fenders

OK guys, many thanks! I have 2 gas pedal assemblies from a six. My buddy brought the 40 front fenders by this afternoon since he was free and I had to help my wife paint the house. He also brought...

Re: '40 front fenders

Dangit, I didn't get to see the fenders yesterday. We are painting the front of the house while we have a long dry spell. Really gonna try to get there today. I did get 4 large sections of the body...

Re: '40 front fenders

I did some searching when FB was down. Looks like the deluxe uses a different hood. I will go look what my hood is. It has this big waterfall looking ribbed latch assembly. Maybe a 41 pu hood? Also...

Re: 1938 Tonner Bed Floor Question

Back in the 90s when I had my 38 tonner I got Wagner's phone number from directory assistance and we had a nice conversation. He seemed genuinely interested in my project, and together we determined...

Re: '40 front fenders

Thanks so much for the support! I know that this is somewhat outside the intended scope of this forum. I don't really know what CAS's deluxe grill sides are. The two halves that form the grille? I...

'40 front fenders

I discovered a friend has a set of 40 fronts for a 'farm truck' project. I am thinking this is a better use of the 4wd chassis I have than the 'sportsman' project. Upon more inspection the frame just...
