Re: '38'Cable brakes with 'Floaters'

Shortly after I purchased my 37 three years ago I was inspecting and lubing everything on the chassis. My brake cables were so tight and gummed up with stuff I couldn’t move them through their...

Re: basic question pulling a 34 rear

I don’t have a spring spreader either. When I needed to pull my rear-end to get the tranny out I left the spring on the rear-end and dropped it as a unit by using a floor jack to lower it and pull it...

Re: Stiff Clutch Release

I had the same issue when rebuilding my 37 tranny. I honed those bushings with an old brake cylinder hone. Leave the bushings in the trans. Hone them very slowly and gently, until the shaft goes in...

Re: My Dad's car after WWII

Regarding the appearance of right hand drive. The film negative could have been flipped over when the print was developed. It would appear as left hand drive if the negative was flipped back.

Re: 1937 Brake Pedal Adjustment

Marshall, while you're at it, be sure to lubricate all the cables where they run through their conduits. The cables on my 37 fordor were extremely tight and would not move freely through the...

Re: 37 grommets

My restored 37 does not have a grommet on either side. The 37 restoration book doesn't mention grommets there either. The tar-like coated fabric conduit protects the wires very well.

Re: Update 1937 Transmission with 1939 Gear Set Question

I did this conversion on my 37 about a month ago. I called Mac VanPelt for his advice and parts needed. Best customer service I've ever received.
