I am seeing ash at my supplier again; absent for awhile.
I’ve also seen small amounts of wormy chestnut there…. May/must be old cutting??

I’ve found ash to be more of a body structure wood. Another note is that oak is specified on a lot of top wood, I find it a bit coarse and splintery
I use mostly hard maple throughout

The only ones that I consider unrestorable are those very very deeply(in the southern USA we have high humidity and acidic trees!) pitted with rust or been in a hot fire.

When I was daydreaming of cloning a 3 window….
It was noted the rear clip is far different than Model A. More like a 32 which could be since it’s a slant and late in A production
