Re: Fan Blade orientation

I'm not sure if I agree with you. If the fan is backwards it will try and blow air forward through the radiator stopping much of the incoming air and that will result in overheating at cruising...

Re: Rims for 1931 Model A

The '40-'48 will work but an adapter is required on the stock mechanical brakes. Can we assume you still have the Model A mechanical brakes?

Re: Posting pictures

And when it is removed from the off site location it vanishes from Fordbarn. Doesn't sound like a very good plan.

Re: flywheel info

I would look for another machinist. I have it in the back of mind that one of the prints contained errors so you might compare a couple.

Re: 1935 16 spoked rims

Be sure to check the date code on the tires before you go too far.

Re: 32 ford ooga horn

Try to find a swap in the wanted or for sale section. Probably easier than modifying yours.

Re: 1932 Ford 3 widow coupe

Remember to tell the spring shop the spring has a curve to clear the rear end when viewed from the top. You might also try a wanted ad, either for a complete rebuilt spring or for individual leafs...

Re: Starter fuse Question ??

I recommended a fuse for my friends Model A. He gave me a "yah I will think about it" response. As we were closing his garage I told him I thought I saw smoke. I finally convinced him I was...

Re: 1932 Ford 3 widow coupe

Are you doing a restoration or street rod? I think Posies have a teflon button on the end of the leaf. I don't know if they make a stock one. Can a spring shop rearch yours?

Re: Short Pitman Arm Question

A longer pitman arm would make the steering harder, something you don't want.

Re: Model A Auto Transmission

Several people have done an automatic transmission for the same reason you have. Search the archives for "automatic transmission" Use advanced search so you can restrict your search to Model A's. ...

Re: Clutch replacement, 1932 Coupe

Does the engine have the anti-chatter rods attached? How about a photo of them?

Re: Police head

The advantage to using the Model B gasket with the Police head is that it more closely follows the combustion chamber edge and seals the steam vent holes. I agree that you should use the one the...

Re: 32 vs 30-31 radiator different

The filler neck is slightly farther forward on the '32. The brackets to attach the hood hinge are different from the Model A.

Re: Model b waterpump

Easy to spot at a swap meet due to the space between the grease fittings.

Re: Model b waterpump

The '33-'34 pump was shorter because the radiator sloped back.

Re: Model b waterpump

I think you will find that the holes are close enough to the edge of the gasket that they will leak especially if the head was not located properly when it was machined. Also the wider contour of...

Re: Pinto 2.O transmission options

I am definitely not an expert on Pinto conversions. I had considered one for my ’32 back in the seventies but for several reasons I chose to go with the Chevy II engine. Since I had considered the...

Re: Model b waterpump

By the time you buy a gasket to replace the head it may end up costing more. I would find an original B pump and have it rebuilt (try placing a "wanted" ad). Look for an original pump as I believe...

Re: Distributor

That is the reason you never go back when adjusting the rotor, if you miss it make another revolution. Also when rotating the crank, never go back, just make another revolution.
