Finally got back to this. Got the door lock out. The set screw was the issue, finding it was!!! LOL The manual wasn't kidding when it said "under the door seal". Once I found that screw it came...

Great suggestion, what would be a good level from the oil pan floor? I am using a none original dip stick so would like to check it. I have a clean new engine so can check with next oil change too....

Thanks, I will definitely think about that and try some of the cleaning products suggested here. The outcome of that will probably make a difference in the decision. My hope is to have it drivable...

Thanks, here is a better picture of the whole truck. The hood was sprung a little so at a shop getting that repaired as long as I had it off for replacing the engine....
