Shim is used between starter case and bell housing. Supposed to help resolve a stuck bendix up against ring gear.

Yes, you are absolutely right on the contacts. My original sockets the springy thing flopped to the side and would short out . It took many tries to figure it out. I actually installed new sockets...

Think I just discovered my problem, the parts book show a bracket part no. A17798 which looks like will take up the gap. Just cut the eyelet off!

Mine is a pressed steel type and measures 28 and 3/4 inches. The rear bumper brackets measure 29 and 1/4 inches creating a gap. When tightened it distorts and pulls everything out of alignment. My...

My bumper cross bar seams too short, when tightened it distorts the two bumper arms. The dimension between the the two arms is 29 and 1/4 inches and the bar is much narrower. What to do?
