Set of 4 rebuilt shocks

Just returned from Robert Paul, rebuilt and ready to install. Shock bodies only. I got impatient and bought a set of Stipe shocks, so these are not needed.

Re: Shock Link Assemblies

Here is a consolidation of tips I read on the Ford Barn and other places that helped me do the job.

Install the shock arms on the shocks while on the bench.
Loosely attach the shocks to the...

Re: Rear brake assembly

Yes. Remove the radius arms (both sides and up by the U joint), install backing plate(s) loosely with the two bolts that don't go through the radius arms, and then reinstall the radius arm / snug...

Re: Shock Install Help

I had mine on jack stands when I did mine. The trick for me was to not tighten the shocks all the way until the links were attached. More info:...

With the Station Wagon tail pipe the exhaust exits right next to the pumpkin.

New Aries Muffler

Just installed a new Aries muffler and Station Wagon tail pipe extension on the woody this evening. It took about an hour to install once we got everything laid out.

Looks and sounds great!

Re: Taking a break for some brakes.

For me it was about 150 after a 5 mile test drive with moderate braking. Outside temp in the 60's.

Re: Taking a break for some brakes.

Right on Art! I got mine going this weekend too. I had a bit of a temperature issue on my passenger front (according to my IR thermometer) but got it under control once I went through and checked the...

Brake shoe centering instructions

Does anyone have a link to detailed instructions on centering brake shoes? No pictures in Les' book, and I have not found anything in the service bulletins. As a visual learner I'd love to see...

Re: Taking a break for some brakes.

That's a major bummer, Art. I got mine from Snyder's and did not see any obvious issues with them.

I ended up reusing my clevis and just replaced the pins. The replacement clevis would not thread...

Re: Taking a break for some brakes.

I used a 1/2" air impact wrench to remove mine. Do you have the rear of the radius rods loose? Maybe one is binding. I wired mine to the running board bracket.

Re: Taking a break for some brakes.

Are you talking about the pin that goes through the king pin and locks in the front brake actuating arm? I had a little trouble removing mine, but didn't need to go for the BFH. I used a large drift...

Third Brake Light -- Station Wagon Options

Has anyone with a 150 A/B mounted an LED third brake light? If so, I'd love to see/read how you installed it.

I'm debating mounting it on the underside of the rear roof cross piece and running the...

Post a photo of your setup. Otherwise it's just speculation and wild guesses :)

Re: Were Original Tires Easier to Remove?

Having just replaced old Firestones with a new set of Good Years, I can safely say the newer tires were MUCH softer / easier to mount. I Had a heck of a time removing the old tires. Mounting the new...

Re: Play in Steering Gear

Two words... finger tight. I've got everything snugged back up with new cotter keys. Easy fix, but still frustrating.
