Re: Help with old Mallory zb 275

It has both. Mechanical advance and a vacuum brake. My understanding is the vacuum brake is not really "vacuum advance" but it's a "buffer"...so to speak that works with the mechanical advance in...

Re: F1 truck MC bench bleed

Pretty much impossible on that design master cylinder. Think about it, the fluid is going to run out when you make the connection and you'll have to bleed it again anyway. The only thing accomplished...

Re: 1949 Ford State Police car

1949 was a long long time ago. It was a different world.

I dare say most "police cars" were standard sedans. Some of the police cars from that era may not have had a radio. If they did it was a...

Re: Cooling system help needed

Brad,
Did you notice a smell of gasoline or exhaust in the radiator?
Years ago my 50 did what you describe, blowing the water out. It was a cracked cylinder.

That engine would run cool at...

1. Vacuum leak
It's quite common to see multiple carburetor gaskets on flathead intakes. 2 fresh gaskets are OK but I have seen as many as 4. Maybe this is simply by accident. The bottom gasket has...

Re: '65 289 rocker arm geometry help

As said those are the wrong valves for that head.

That's OK as you can simply get rail rockers, mid '66 to '77 or so. Those valves have to have rail rockers as darrell said.

I will add that...

Re: How to use a holly model 59 carb on 8BA engine

I discussed this with Bruce Lancaster on the HAMB a couple of years ago. My understanding is it would require a cam change and the early timing cover.

What distributor would you recommend? Vern...
