Re: Who's gonna fill their shoes?
There is no such thing as an electrical flathead. Gas will be around for a long while. Supply and demand would make gas cheaper as demand is less due to electric and alternative transportation. But...

Re: Who's gonna fill their shoes?
I've been on the Hamb since 99. I'm just conveying the feeling of the people around me that are at shows or I meet. There are a few. My old club in Florida was 5 guys. Only 3 of us were committed to...

Re: New misfire - sticky valves?
It's nice to see a conclusion to a problem. Thanks for following through the whole project! Nice work!
You might take up any offers on a used/good clip. At least you'll know what the steel is...

Re: Who's gonna fill their shoes?
I hate to say it but this is true in my experience. There will be a few trying to not keep this thing from becoming air ride and non-flatmotors. But we are getting thin. Things change, who knows in...

Re: Gasoline in Crankcase
Are you running the mechanical only? or an electrical pump through the mechanical pump? A hole/ripe in the diaphragm won't pump real well. But a electric pump running through it will certainly fill a...

Re: New misfire - sticky valves?
If you want to waste a couple bucks and explore your tech side. You can buy something like this. Engine snake camera. (I'm not recommending this one, there are plenty of these types of things nowdays...

Re: New misfire - sticky valves?
Had one of these on my 36. Compression was around 30lbs, Bruce L thought that was high from the culprit picture valve. Replaced it with a nice gentleman's help here sending me a good used valve...

Re: Brake drums
It'd be great if someone desired to make wide fives drums. There would be a lot of people on that bus. Maybe not as cool as "fined" drums.... but racing has adapted them so wide five has a bit of a...

Re: Finally got it home
Looks like you could possibly run a modified crab if one was inclined to do so. Or not.
Cool rig.

Re: 80lb oil pump with a 50lb gauge ?
No and yes, more flow doesn't mean more psi... flow vs tolerances/resistance. You can run a 1" hose of water down a hallway and create no pressure. Run the 1" hose into a 1/8" restrictive door then...

Re: 80lb oil pump with a 50lb gauge ?
These engines where made in the 30-50s. Low oil pressure systems. Heck model a 4 bangers had no positive oil pressure. Just change your oil sometimes.

Re: Walker Radiator
We tend to overlook the system of a motor. We rebuild a motor, buy a bunch of speed parts with no issue... and get all weird and stingy about a radiator... What I have to cool this motor too???...

Re: Runs great until it heats up
Lead was used for L head motor upper cylinder lucubration. Guess it's a thing, as they sell lead additive now. Which I would never buy.
On a new rebuilt motor like mine the tolerances are very...

Re: Runs great until it heats up
Condenser or coil... But I'd mention valves sticking. My truck that's rebuilt does this every spring after sitting. It idles just fine till I put load on it. It bucks underload. I do a mmo carb dump...

Re: Runs great until it heats up
Agree with Jay. Maybe fuel related... Could be anything really. But maybe the ignition is recovering just enough to run poorly.
If it runs well every time its started from a normal cold state,...

Re: 37 Replacement seats
I'd rather have some lumpy correct seats then a couple 80s aerovan seats.
Post some pictures of what you are asking if you can.
