Re: picked up a 1935 pickup project

You did an outstanding job preserving the look of a working truck. How sad that the current owner didn't appreciate that. There are way too many restored and over-restored cars and trucks. They never...

Re: 1941 Ford Pickup frame-off restore for the next generation

What are the two tabs at the very front of the frame used for? Did the passenger car frame have them also? You're doing very nice work on a very nice truck.

Re: 40 P/U Hood vs. 40 Std. Car

Re: '41 pickup, vermillion red, lochaven green or palisade gray?

I would go with the original cab colour, otherwise vermillion red. So nice to see you say "no whitewalls, no accessories, just plain jane. Bone stock". I am not a fan of over-restored, accessorised...

Re: Hello again, and a few woodie questions.

Ed. Out of curiosity, is your woodie Canadian-built? Does it have military origins?

Re: My 1941 Ford 1/2 ton pickup restoration

My 1940 and 1941 Ford of Canada truck and commercial cars sales brochures show that the one-piece drum and hub was standard issue for those two years. The photos are from the 1941 brochure.

Re: Nice running 1940 Flathead motor complete

There are 24 cylinder head studs so that would be an 85 HP. The 60 HP engines had 17 cylinder head studs.

Re: 1940-48 16"X4" Wheels

What are the differences between the 40/41 and 42 to 48? I'm always refering to passenger car wheels 16"X4". Are there different bolt patterns within this group?

Re: Correct heads for 1941 Mercury

I'm assuming you're refering to a Canadian-built Mercury. Beginning in 1941 the Mercury used cast iron heads with part numbers C81A 6049A and C81A 6050A. Joe.

Re: 1940 with 1939 Chassis

Sorry, I don't have pictures of the vehicles in question. I saw them in a borrowed library book.
I will try to get a copy of Canada's Fighting Vehicles.
