Re: NOS Truck Spindles: Can anyone ID these?
The spindle with the arm on top which has a ball is Part Number 51-3015. This fit production 1936 and 1937 Trucks. The other with only one arm is Part Number 51-3106 and also for 1936 and 1937...

Re: My 33 BB Truck
Thanks for sharing the photos. I have to admit the black fenders and green cab make for a great color combination!!

Re: '32 AAB progress report
Nice job on your truck. Look forward to seeing it all together and running. I can imagine how hard it is to find '32 big truck parts.

Re: Help Identify V8
Welcome to Fordbarn. It would be great to see a couple pictures of your truck.
If you want a resource of information about your truck (a Model 51 if it's really a dump truck) consider buying a...

Re: Towing Capacity?
The answer to your question regarding the towing capability of your truck can be calculated with information found in the 1941 Ford Dealer Showroom Album. There's a table listing the Gross Vehicle...

Re: 35/36 Pickup Seat Base
One final comment. Notice the part number ends in -A2. To me this indicates that there at least two versions of -A. I've only seen this nomenclature when there are two versions of the same part...

Re: 35/36 Pickup Seat Base
I honestly don't know if the 51-815360-A2 drawing represents a part Ford put into production or not. Unfortunately the dates in the upper top right hand corner are not clear enough to read and I...

Re: BB truck and big truck wheel studs
Ford and other truck makers installed left-hand threads on purpose. It's probably unlikely right hand threads in place of the left hand originals will have the nuts work free, but why not keep it...

Re: 35/36 Pickup Seat Base
None of the 1935-36 truck seat base plywood I've seen have the three hole re-enforcement plate on the seat base or the recessed area. Same for all of the Ford engineering parts drawings for this...

Re: 1935 21 Stud engine
Fredys - Have you considered joining or reaching out to members of the Early Ford V8 Club of America who live in your area or in a country nearby? I know the EFV8 Club has international members so...

Re: 35/36 Pickup Seat Base
Yep. I had the same thought and it does make sense. Doing all the research and having the Ford Engineering Drawings for the seat base parts I can only come to one conclusion that those metal plates...

Re: 35/36 Pickup Seat Base
The adjustment stops are the same for the pickup and truck. Three holes 3/4" diameter on each side (for the bench seat) 1 1/2" apart. The truck seat base just doesn't need the re-enforcement plate....

Re: 35/36 Pickup Seat Base
The pictures reminded me of yet another difference between the truck and pickup seat bases. The truck does not have the two metal three hole plates. I speculate that the plates were needed on the...

Re: 35/36 Pickup Seat Base
The seat bottom sketch shows 4 opening holes so I'm not sure why. Also, the truck seat bottom is 3/4" thick 5-ply fir plywood, not that it really makes much difference but it's the way Ford did it...

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck
Same for the '35-'36 Trucks. There's a grease seal in the rear brake drum only. The front spindles have and integral formed shape which serves to keep most of the wheel bearing grease in the front...

38bill - thanks for your sketches. Your drawings definitely indicate that by 1938 the design had changed. I appreciate you sharing these.

Re: More New Sheetmetal Products for Pickups
Yep - there are two versions for sure of floorboard no. 2. The model 50/67 cab and the '35-'36 model 51 cab have several minor differences. Most don't matter, but it does make a difference for the...

Re: More New Sheetmetal Products for Pickups
One difference in the 1935 and 1936 pickup and big truck cabs is the sill member supporting the back edge of floorboard no. 2. The pickup sill member is part of the seat riser while for the big...

Unfortunately I can't answer your two questions. My copies of Ford engineering drawings and part releases for the seat base and floorboard number 2 only cover 1935 through 1936.
With the Ford...
