Re: Brake Drum Paint

I would use black epoxy primer and thats it. I don't think you will ever get brakes hot in normal use unless pulling a trailer down hill. I use regular 2 part urethane paint on engines, never...

Re: 276 stroker from 35 years of parts

Re: Public Service Announcement: Avoiding Ethanol

I burn the cheapest whatever gas there is. The key is to drive em and not let them sit.
Alcohol absorbs moisture. Leave it sit, its a problem, burn it up....no problem.

I do however buy...

Re: Compression questions

Old brass can become brittle and crack. A new brassworks radiator is expensive, but money well spent, and they are top notch quality.

Re: Little Bell mounted on firewall of 1932 Ford

Looks like an extra phone bell you might have on the porch or in a garage. I had one in my room when I was a kid playing with that sort of stuff

Re: 276 stroker from 35 years of parts

I also like the merc cam. Made for low end torque for the heavy merc, and the new in vogue automatic trannys. would be a good choice in the woodie

Re: Cowl Lights ??

I would guess it started with the weak generator output of the model A's. You would have to turn up the generator 3rd brush for extended night driving, where as probably not with the cowl lights...

Re: Stuck Valve ?

I agree with flatjack. I go in the spark plug hole with an allen wrench. Try to hit the center of the valve.

Re: Transmission Countershaft and Bearings Question

The guy's on my jeep forums take the cage apart, get rid of it, and then fill it with rollers all the way around like the newer version of counter shafts. You then need the hardened washers between...

Re: New clutch - what does "disengaged" mean?

Do you have the proper 1" or so of free pedal before the throw out bearing contacts the pressure plate? And, are you sure the disk is not in backwards?
