Re: looking at a restored 36 ford coupe

Don't buy anything that you cannot look at yourself. You also cannot always trust an inspector that you hire to do the job for you. Some may know old Fords and some may not.

Re: Could Use Some Help With License Plate Restoration

Contact Duane Wells in Michigan. He advertises in the V-8 Times magazine in the "services" section. Ph# 517-371-3225. He has done two sets of plates for me and a great job. He's also very reasonable.

Re: 1939 ford steering lock stuck

Re: 1953 Mercury Monterey Literature

You might start with a Chilton's repair manual for the the era of the car. Also buy the Early Ford V-8 Club's 1952-53 two volume book. It covers the '52-'53 Fords, but much of the mechanicals on a...

Re: '37 Ford pickup....

The 54 at the beginning of the serial # indicates it had a V-8 60 motor from the factory. The truck has already been modified as it has a later 8BA motor from 1949 to 1953. In addition someone cut a...

Re: Removing Corn Head grease from steering

Did you replace the bushing at the top of the column with a bearing? That old worn bushing at the top can also be part of your problem

Re: 1939 ford steering lock stuck

Move the steering wheel back and forth as you are trying to move the mechanism. Sometimes they get jammed up and moving the steering wheel can release it.

Re: touch up paint for the 53

If you just need to touch up small rock chips etc. I did the following. I had a pin striper mix me up a small can of "One Shot" enamel to match the paint on my '40 Ford. Works great for small chips....

First you need to determine if you want a rubber style or a carpet style. That should help to narrow down the selection. Check with the companies that sell car covers like California Car Covers or...
