Re: 1937 roll out crank retainer clip

It's been a while since I saw mine, but think it looks like this, it holds the crank to the dash, not to the operator.

Re: 1937 Ford Tudor door handle droop

If you end up needing them, I have some exterior handles and NOS latches. I'd want $50.00 plus shipping for the latch, maybe $20 plus shipping (could be combined) for the handle.

Re: 1937 Fuel Tank Replacement

If you check where the continuous weld is on the sides, there is usually enough metal outside the weld area, to allow you to trim an 1/8" or so off the flange and often that is all you need to make...

Re: 1937 Ford Tudor door handle droop

Do you have free play in the handle mechanism? Sometimes over the years, the shaft gets twisted from people cranking it too hard. If you don't have any free play in the mechanism the springs won't...

Re: 1938 std coupe hood adjustment

If '38 hood hinges are the same as '37, you may have to slot the holes slightly, specially if they are aftermarket hinges. You need to be able to sort of "rock/rotate" the hinge body slightly. The...

Which way does this go?

I bought this Drake trunk gasket for my '37 Slantback, but not sure which way is up. This may not be like the original, I've never seen an original, but I assume this would work. Which way should...

Re: Top three Ford Products, '32 - '53

I'll go for '33 Coupe, '37 Slantback and '32 Cabriolet. I have two of these, who knows, maybe some day I'll have the '32 as well. I have to admit though, there aren't many in all those years that I...

Re: Australian 1934 Ford Coupe Ute plus Video

I agree with you Mercman. I appreciate the workmanship in well built cars, whether restored or modified. It's very impressive.

Re: fordwindshield Defroster - 1937

You can probably see in these photos there are two slots beside the slot for the window wind out mechanism. There are factory sheet metal defroster deflectors that connect to those under the dash...

Re: buffing or sanding out sgl stage paint

I've done a few of my cars for a show finish, but you need to know how much paint is on there. With base clear, I shoot 3 coats of base and 4 coats of clear. I block sand the clear to start with...

Re: 1937 Ford inner fender bolts

Not sure why they would have gone lighter, but my car was all original when I got it, it had never been apart and it had the 1/4" fine thread bolts.

Re: 1937 Ford inner fender bolts

I'll have a good look around, I may still have one of the originals, although I took it apart about 10 years ago and threw out most of the really rusty bolts.

1937 Ford inner fender bolts

Can someone tell me if the low profile bolts that bolt the front fenders to the inner fender are 5/16" or 1/4"? Thanks, Bill

'37 trunk hinge question

Can someone tell me what was used in these metal cups that go over the trunk hinge bolts inside the car. When I removed them originally, they seemed to be full of something like old plumber's putty....

Re: 1937 humpback sedan smoothie hood latch

Yes, it did involve fabbing the 2 panels, one welded into the hood, the other attaches to the grille and extends back to the rad. I still use the original hood pin mounted in the grille, but not...
