Re: Manifold vacuum at idle... vs without...interesting observations

Re: Iola old car show

Re: The new 1940 Ford Book is now available

Ordered my book last night even though I don't have a 40. I have a 39 DeLuxe and there is a book for 38 - 39 models from the V-8 Club. Well worth having.

Re: Initial start on new engine

I would pull the plugs, put some oil in the cylinders and crank the engine a few times. Then continue to crank until you get pressure. Install plugs. Do not put anti-freeze in initially. Use just...

Re: Is it normal to build an engine test stand?

I have 3 test stands. Keep one used engine up and running to test rebuilt carbs and distributors. Always nice to know you have good units when starting a new engine.

Re: head Recommendation

Whether electric or engine driven, the hot air goes in to the engine compartment. No difference. As VeryTangled has said, anything you can do pull the air through the radiator will help. I put a...

I've been running my 390 Holley without a choke for over 20 years. Of course I don't run in the winter.

Re: where is this all going

I am totally disappointed in the way we are being led astray by our supposed experts. We can't hide forever.

Re: Flathead running cold

There probably will be 1/4 pipe plugs. Remove them and install drain petcocks. Use a hose and drain in to a bucket in the future.
