Ursula- thanks very much. The shaft is not recessed - a single diameter the entire length. And both exit ports are rectangular.

Engine squeaks can be hard to identify unless you use a stethoscope, or funnel and piece of rubber tubing to...

Ditto here. I also added some felt carpet padding under the front carpet in my roadster. The floorboard stays nice and cool on a hot day now.

Iíve used an old upper shaft a number of times and simply tapped the new bushings in place. Itís easy to break the lower part of the distributor off, so care is needed.

I just installed a set of Brattons spindle bushings and used a hand reaming bit on them. There appears to be plenty of bronze material left after reaming.
