Re: the build

Suggest EAB heads instead of 8ba's. Also, with dual carbs what are you planning on for a distributor? The stock Loadomatic won't work properly with dual carbs.

Re: Vacuum Bleeder?

Used a Mighty Mite one to bleed the brakes when I converted my Ranch Wagon to disc brakes. Works OK but not as well as a pressure bleeder. If you're doing it your self you need to keep an eye on the...

Re: Engine fit

I did notice the piston and a few other issues. Regardless, thought it was overpriced. Its been advertised for a while. Even if it was top notch its way too rich for my wallet. But one man's junk is...

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

I've never used Lucas Tire in Long Beach, CA but they list a 6.00x20 Firestone truck tire with a tread pattern IMO that would be perfect for your truck....

Re: 1938 85 1.5 ton gearing

When I had my '40 1 1/2 ton I bought a rear end assembly from a Dodge motor home complete with springs, perches, and 19.5 wheels and tires. It was a 4.56. The frame width was the same so the swap...

Re: 1938 85 1.5 ton gearing

I had a '40 1 1/2 ton flatbed with a 3 speed Watson auxiliary trans. It was under, direct, and over. But it had an open drive line so the install of the divorced unit was a much easier install than...

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

In regards to the split rims. Make sure the mounting services on the wheel and ring are clean and rust free. Don't want to have a ring fail to seat properly and come loose, either while mounting or...

Re: 1937 Pickup Interior Kit?

I used the cardboard kit from Mac's in my '39. Not sure about a '37. Kit fits OK but the roof panel sags. Not sure if its the panel itself or the sound deadener I installed coming loose. If I ever...

Re: T5 trany in 55 wagon

You might want to use the barbie instead of the oven so as not to upset the missus. That's what I did when I replaced the ring gear on my 8ba. The hot ring gear when on the frozen flywheel easy peasy.

Re: Advice Required2 - M47 Pickup 12v Conversion

I'm not going to get into the 6 versus 12 debate but I used a Rebel wire 9+3 kit when I rewired my '39 p/u and changed over to 12 volt. Excellent product and from all accounts they have great tech...

Re: T5 trany in 55 wagon

I'd contact Hotrodprimer. Don't know if he's on the Barn but he is on the HAMB. He has a T5 in his '54 Ranch Wagon which I assume is similar to your '55. Another good source would be Jeffb2 here on...

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

Didn't '32's have a fuel pump? Or just on the cars, not the big trucks?

Re: coil

On my '39 p/u with an 8ba converted to 12 volts I'm using a 012 Bosch Blue internal resister coil. Works great with no issues. Just my experience.

Finally got down to the shop. Attached are photos of what latch parts I have. If some one needs them they can have them for the cost of mailing.

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

Try a 50/50 mixture of ATF and acetone to soak the cylinders/valves with to free up the engine. Time is your friend, don't rush the process. Great find. I'm a fan of big trucks so I'll be watching as...

Well said Marcus. Too many people don't know the difference (or don't care) between Memorial Day and Veterans Day. At least Veterans Day hasn't been delegated to a Monday holiday so that the...

Re: wide 5s

3/4 ton trucks up (not 1 ton) used a wide five wheel which was as I understand wider than those used on passenger cars and p/u's. The photo is of a '41 3/4 ton panel with wide fives.

Re: 34 wheel/tire combo for roller

I've seen round disks of 3/4" plywood drilled with the 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern used for rollers but usually just for frames. But with the price of plywood these days it might be cheaper to find...
