Re: The Mighty Wiper

The vacuum resevoir is nothing but a tin can, thicker metal that food cans, and a "T" arrangement that stores vacuum for use under low vacuum conditions. Ford put one on a '91 Ranger I had that would...

Re: The Mighty Wiper

I purchased one of the "mighty wiper" units and had nothing but trouble with it. My recomendation is don't waste your money The unit has weak gearing and the wiper arm will blow out of time and jam...

Re: 94 accel pump linkage

As far as I know all "94s" have a flat blade on the acc. pump plunger. The round rod is part of the acc.pump linkage. For your information I've been driving, building and racing flatheads for...

Re: 94 accel pump linkage

There must be a spring on the accelerator pump piston on the "94" carb for it to function. However which spring can be a problem. The stock springs ,in my experience, are a little too weak to...

Re: carbs

For the "94" I still like NAPA's best, but don"t use the 7.5 power valve that comes in their kit unless you're sure you really need that high of vacuum number.

Re: Model T puller

Sorry cannot send picture because of no digital camera and not knowledge of finer points of computers. I must guess that it's not a hub puller because a 1" slot will not go over any model A hub I've...

Re: The Police!

Back in '63 I believe the year was, I had my AV8 at a bodyman friend's shop that was about a 1/2 mile out of town on a little used back road. The car had just received some priming and sheetmetal...

Re: finding a better transmission for a 36 woodie

If the trans. is correctly rebuilt with the later helical tooth gears, and synkros., it should make almost no noise in 2nd and 3rd. If I were you I'd find a friend that knows the trans. and it's...

Re: Red fuel line

How about some of the stainless steel braided brake lines that are out there ? Ever see anything that says they are D.O.T. legal?

Re: Sweating carb base?

Warm day, high humidity, run engine for a period of time and the expanding fuel/air mixture will pull heat out of the carb. base the same way an airconditioner works. If the ambient air temp. is...

Re: "Death wobble

This may sound too simple but by any chance did you check the alignment of the two kin pin bores in the axle with the two perch mount holes? All four must be inline. Also a line drawn through the...

Re: Carb Issue. Driving me nuts.

On the idle problem, check the little holes in the base throttle bores. These should be cleaned out with carb. cleaner and small wires. Lots of compressed air. I seem to remember there are three...

Re: AV8 - banjo rear vs Ford 8" question?

Think about how much you plan on driving and how far. The 9" is overkill. A ford banjo center section is very good looking but now days I would question everything inside one if used and in use in...

Re: 39 tranny grinding 2nd?

Use common sense on gear lube. These old transmissions were made to run thin lube in cold weather and heavy in hot weather. I know that heavy lube in cold weather makes the brass friction ring slip...
