missing caps requires a line bore for sure. caps are not too hard to find I have a few from busted blocks

what is the block bored to now? how much more to get 3 5/16

look at how the oil filter is attached, no special boss. uses old style oil filter housing. check to see if they are aluminum

have you had the top off the trans? do the forks engage the rings on the gears? take the top off and look into the case and see if both 1/2 and 3/4 gears are free

but for years there were no such thing as a "BOOK" on a 40 or any other and Benny Bottle and Wayne Moore tried to help us back then to do a better restoration, yes not as detailed as the new book but...

sorry it will not. in 1948 ford went to a splined shaft, before that it was a tapered with a key way. your steering wheel is a 40 standard fits all pick ups from 1940 to 47

77b , watch out for regrinds on stock cams, the base circle can get pretty small. of course adjustable lifters with hole drilled low on the lifter bore to aid in adjusting lifters

40 block with little oil pressure, upon inspection found this. Front gallery plug left out. The old school builder had left this out probably 20 years ago. found one in my stash to put in

have helped build a few and have built a few myself, learned some do's and some don'ts along the way. a few aw sh--, never had a complete failure but know of a couple that had to be completely...
