Re: 1940 Ford convertible body tags

One of my 39 deluxe convertibles ( ex USA ) had a body tag up in the LH corner.
From memory it ended with 074 indicating the first week of production.

Re: crash

Try Dave in Inglewood.
Ring him then send some pictures.
They have worked on a lot of pre-war Ford V8's.
Bought 1 or 2 of mine back from the dead.

Re: Interior panels

Have a look at Drake's illustration of the package tray wood kit that he sells ( or used to ).
Most common item I have found to be missing is the spare wheel bracket.
The interior rear trim...

Re: 1940 Ford Deluxe X member sheet metal original thickness

I have a very original '40 Pickup that came from Illinois.
Chassis # 18539 9xxx which would indicate a fairly early example.
It does not have the reinforcing plate.

Re: 1939 Standard coupe grille panels

Those side panels look to be in reasonable condition.
Not a bad price either.
I would buy them and then look for the 2 curved " hockey stick " s/s trim pieces and the 4 small s/s trim pieces for...

Re: Vinyl seats

I had a 39 deluxe coupe that had the original leather option.
I think that originally only the backrest and seat cushions were genuine leather.
The remainder was leatherette dyed to match the...

Re: What is it about 1939 Standard Fords?

There are 3 sets of stainless pairs varying in length.
They come up on e-bay occasionally.
You can trim some 38 std grille pieces to suit as well.

Re: 1939 Standard coupe grille panels

Ford called them hood side assemblies.
PN 91A-16618/19
We called them side vents.
Should be relatively easy to get a pair from a Ford barn member or e-bay.

Re: How Manny Country's are on Ford Barn

Quite a few 39 coupes went from New Zealand to Australia in later years - it was a model they didn't make over there.

Re: '39 Oregon Plate

Just get those rear bumper over-riders turned over and you'll be good to go.

Re: Norway members?

Scammers often use the " I'm presently working on an offshore oil rig " line.
Be careful.

Re: Walnut woodgrain

Go to Grain-it Technology's website.
You will need a roller, medium brown printers' ink and a straight grain template to get close to the 38 deluxe factory finish.
Look up 1938 ford deluxe...
