Early 28 or AR Brake Cross Shaft Brackets

Looking for early 28 brake cross shaft brackets. These will not fit the bushing. The cross shafts ride free in the brackets.

Re: Rebuilding OEM shocks

Had no idea that was a Canadian shock. The mixed set I had bothered me at first but I got over it. I really don’t plan on making any seasonal adjustments. Vast improvement over non-existent shocks so...

Re: Rebuilding OEM shocks

I'm pretty happy with my Apple rebuilds. I didn't think two out of four were going to be rebuildable. And I know, I have to get tubular links. There seems to be a shortage right now.

Re: Early 28 brake equalizer shaft

I finally got around to installing the above-mentioned springs. As suspected, there were no springs installed previously. They were a little bit of a pain to get into the U-Joint housing sockets but...

Re: brake equalizer cross shaft

Thanks. I have to give Bert's a call. In the meantime I painted the newer style straps and put in new bushings. I also installed the springs that go into the U-Joint housing sockets that were...

Re: Fuel shut off valve

I have a similar setup. It’s been six months and no more fuel in the carb. However it is getting a little gritty and harder to turn. Suspecting sediment is still getting into the valve.

Re: Brake Linings Too Long?

Re: Brake Linings Too Long?

My only concern is the edge folding over from being compressed and it possibly breaking off

Brake Linings Too Long?

Ordered molded linings from Snyder’s. There is about 1/16” overhang on one end of the brake show and 1/8”-3/16” on the other. Is this normal? Can I install them like this or trim them down? The woven...

Re: brake equalizer cross shaft

Yes, mine do appear to be later straps especially after comparing them to the flat portion of the upper strap. I appreciate everyone's help.

Re: brake equalizer cross shaft

I know this is an old thread but any help would be appreciated.

Do the cross shaft brackets appear to be original with someone adding split bushings at some point?

The driver's side cross...

Re: Fuel / Gas Shut-Off Valve Solution

Pencil filter was installed on original valve. I installed a new pencil filter on the new valve that was installed. From what I can tell the tank seems pretty clean but I would like to fully flush...

Fuel / Gas Shut-Off Valve Solution

After replacing the valve packing in the original valve and going through two reproduction valves I gave up and decided to add an additional shut-off valve. I still wanted the shut-off in the cab and...
