Re: Hydraulic brake pull to left

Bob, I have also had a steel brake line clogged with corrosion as well. It may be a combination of both. In my situation I had to change both hard and rubber lines along with flushing the system and...

Re: Pinion Bearing Preload

Jim , I could not agree with you more that it doesn’t take a “rocket scientist”. While I am a hot rod Chevy guy who loves my 28 model A more than all my cars and am/ have been , learning the quirks...

Re: Radiator cap (quail) grub screw size

Why not just re tap the threads to metric and use a metric set screw. Who’s going to know? I won’t tell anyone. ; )

Ya know… it’s not for us to judge. If you would like to help the gentleman then do. If not please don’t cast stones. Life is hard. Choices are made. Just my thoughts…

Re: 28 battery box

My nov 28 uses the full rectangle battery hold down. If you are looking for accuracy I would check the date on the drivers side gas tank to determine what top mount you need

Photo on MAFCA home page

Just wondering....what do you think they used to make the tires shiny on the delivery in the picture at the bottom of the MAFCA web page? It looks to be from the day. I have seen other pictures of...

Re: Front fender usage claification

When you say rounded fender do you mean the rear part of the stamping nearer the fire wall at the bottom ? My car is a November car and that part on mine rounds out to the outside and is not like a...

Re: Drip Rail Won't Snap On

Don’t try to put the top and bottom on at the same time. Put the top lip on and pull down while gently tapping work your way across. Do not put tape on the painted moulding. Put 3 or 4 layers of...

Re: Flywheel housing mounting

I have thought about that but my car has all original components. The float a motors seem to me that it will allow the motor to flop around a bit plus it is not what it came with. It’s just that the...

Re: Determining Model A Gas Mileage

It’s like my hot rod boat, I fill it and drive it because I love it ! If I started worrying about fuel efficiency it would spoil my enjoyment. Of course it gets me when we go on a tour and we start...

Re: Trailer hitch

Seems like way overkill just to stick a flag on your car. The manufacturer and or vendor is obviously concerned about liability. I dont think I would trust any hitch unless it was mounted to the...

Re: Paint prep

NEVER use lacquer thinner. Even though it melts stuff off the surface it leaves residue and can cause fisheyes. A good name brand of automotive wax and grease remover will be fine. Make sure you wipe...

Re: Any info on A217, Sport Coupe on MAFCA website?

Not to be a stick in the mud here but we all know that there are many peripheral parts to a Model A that are interchangeable. That doesn’t mean that the basic car isn’t what the owner claims it to...

Re: Persistent Leaky Fuel Shutoff Valve

I rebuilt my original valve 3 times and it still seeped. The carb had the original ball type float valve. I bought a new tank shut off valve from who I can’t recall. Still seeped. I put in a new...

Re: Zenith carb float level

I had a similar situation with one of my zeniths. I ended up putting the lower half in a vice and filling the bowl with gas. Low and behold it was leaking out of the threads of the jet in the air...
