Need to know if it's feasible to fit a 8ba Mallory twin point with a Pentronix setup........Or would the stock distributor be a better option to use .....:D

Had a similar problem on my '39....turned out to be the universal joint was touching the cupped section of the tailshaft housing that covers the uni. joint..
Replaced the tailshaft and gear box...

To avoid any confusion about my post saying the relief valve could have been "stuck open"...
I was refering to the first 300 mls mentioned after startup, where it may have seemed to be working...

The pump pressure spring and valve that control the rate of oil pumped maybe stuck open, or the valve that pushes against the pump body on the pump end of the spring could have some dirt or grit...

I was also a non user of adj.lifters ..ever !...Mike (Flatattack) sent me a set to try....
Done 8000 ml's sofar... checked them at around 7000 ml's...were exactly as original set ...never had to...
