Do like Kube says. Adding a quart of oil separately to the filter canister is a very "messy" idea.
Don't do it.

Stock manifold has the port located below the throttle plate for the Load-A-Matic. Stock distributor single pont unit works fine. Dual point is not needed.

As has been said, make sure you have the correct matching bell bousing with matching starter plate as they all do not install at the same angle. That creates 'meshing" problems with flywheel.

1949-51 Mercury Stamped Steel Bell Housing

Condition is very good. Not rusted out or damaged. Does not include starter plate. Shipping is extra. Hope you can use it.
