Distributor shaft 1932 model B

I am looking for the shaft that is used in the model B distributor - it is the one that the weights fit on also need the part that fits on to the top of the shaft?

Burnishing Inserts Rod Bearing

Can anyone tell me how to burnish the rod bearing and what to use for compound? Does it help the motor will it make the bearing last longer? A round surface is better than one that does not touch...
