hope this is the right stuff, it's identified in the Model A Generator book, says to soak in it...

Well the generator field wires began smoldering, got the generator off, opened up and stopped the glow with water, compressed air only made worse. Wiring was frayed and falling apart...This car only...

So just burned up my generator trying to get the charging system back up and running, (had replaced cutout with one from brattons w/diode) couldn't get any reading on the ammeter.

Ground wire to Universal housing?

current project is attempting to fix Speedometer issue, (replacing Driveshaft bearing/sleeve, seal, thrust washer and snapring) to much slop and eating the speedometer drive gear.

You can use a Sharpie Paint Pen, I liked the results, works well on raised surface and you can easily add additional coats

Basically a safety issue, if there's a wreck and the doors are jammed shut , it's easier to get out of a car with tempered glass, since it shatters, and you don't have to struggle with broken glass...

Speedometer drive gear

Replacing the speedometer cable drive gear and when i pulled of the housing the drive gear has a lot of a slop in it. Is this normal or do I have a bigger issue
