Re: Shoebox Central's Steering Upgrade Kit?

One other thing;

Looked at these kits thru the years and the one...

Re: Lean MisFire

One other thing; an old axiom..
multiple carbs exacerbates [INCREASES] carb problems by the coefficient [number] of carburetors used.:D

On a more serious note;

Re: Lean MisFire

Kinda sounds like a problem when you transition from idle (uncovering the transition port). Running the float level at...

Re: 1950 Radiator Options

I had considered a 4 core/recore also but was talked out of it by the shop that used to build my stock car radiators (one of which is sitting in our 69 BBC Camaro).

Their/his thinking has...

Re: Oil Pressure

Pitched the mechanical years ago. I'm using a 2 speed late '90s SVO and shroud. Practically a bolt on made for the old shoebox. 2 fan switches in bottom of tank 185 and 195. using a 70s Volvo...

Re: Oil Pressure

I should have qualified my remarks.
My engine was rebuilt in 1987
When we lived in the northwest I absolutely ran 10w40 and still would if we were still there.
Now that we live outside Las Vegas...

Re: Oil Pressure

(1) hook up good quality mechanical oil pressure gauge
(2) oil change (many use 20/50 weight) I do
(3) "tired" engine

Re: one wire alternator

I would suggest that is how the 1 wire alternators do it (internally). Sure it will work but I'm thinking it isn't the best charging solution for our low rpm motors.

Re: one wire alternator

when I ran the GM alternator I ran the #2 (voltage sensing wire) as close to the battery as possible (battery side of the starter relay). There is [generally] a .6-.8 voltage drop (differential)...

Re: 1950 8ba recommended oil

I would drop out the old oil and fire the motor and get it (oil) up to temperature/drive it around the block with a [cheap] light weight oil.
