Re: Cylinder heads

Ported B block, Stipe 340 cam, reshaped stock size modern valves, 97 on a Burns manifold and a Snyders cast iron header.

74 is at the end of a half mile sprint and with 3.27 gears it's still...

Re: Cylinder heads

Just to say - I really like my Brierley head.
It pushed this down the beach at 74mph...

Re: Shocks - reproduction vs. rebuilt

I've been using the Rotoshims - I have a set on two cars now. Definitely recommend them. If you tell them your application they can be factory tuned. Each shock is dynamically tested after assembly...

Re: Billet shocks

Do you mean the Rotoshim shocks?

I’m running a couple of sets. I think Sammy stocks the at Arizona Model A.
I was the original test pilot for them. They’re very good indeed.

Re: modern shock upgrade

I'm running these. More expensive than tube, but they work, and no exchange necessary.

Arizona Model A have them in stock.

Re: specialty motor cams.

Was looking yesterday. The site wouldn't load and timed out.

Re: Rotoshim Shocks

With the pound freefalling against the dollar the Rotoshims can be had for about $1200 including shipping. The exchange rate is in your favour.

Re: Rotoshim Shocks

Y'pays your money and takes y'choice.
I had some of the scripted repros in the past. One leaked within a week of fitting it. Neither were awe inspiring. And they run to $1100-1200 a set now?

Re: Rotoshim Shocks

I've fitted a couple of sets so far to my cars. Saving up for a third set for my Fordor.
If you want to know how good they are I guess you need to speak to my passengers...

Re: Experiences With 3.27 & 3.54 Gears

I run a 3.27 in my Coupe. Love it. Happy running along at 55-65. Hit 74 on Pendine Sands for a class win.

Re: Firestone vs Lucas Tires

Another vote for Blockley tyres.
They also make some very good quality tubes, but despite asking a few times, they have no plans to make a centre valve tube.

Re: Henry would be shocked...

I've had new ones fitted with UNC bolts with metric heads, metric bolts with imperial heads, and everything in between. Normally made of some kind of cheese. I've also had the cast links crack in...

Re: Mart's Garage on Tour: Let's visit Phil's 1860s Windmill!

Unfortunately not so Lawson. Pretty much no money whatsoever!

Truth be told it’s a very hand to mouth operation. But it was much cheaper to buy than a proper house…

Re: Mart's Garage on Tour: Let's visit Phil's 1860s Windmill!

Oh - 9.6 tons for anyone counting.
Much cheaper to repair it on the ground than in situ.

Re: Modern Bendix

I've discovered the procedure is to buy at least two as they appear to be a bit fragile. Once you fit the second one, take a moment to rebuild an original in time for the next failure...

Bringing a Ford Pilot back home.

Last year I was offered a Ford Pilot. A few snags though. The offeree wasn’t the owner, and he felt I should buy it and sell him the running gear as it was as in a terribly rusty condition. Also, I...

Re: New camshaft availability

I run a 340 Stipe cam in my Coupe at the moment and really like it. I have a Burtz cam on order though as I couldn’t get another Stipe. Any thoughts on the Burtz profile Jim?

Re: Lilleker Antique Auto?

Haven't seen Ross in nearly a couple of decades, but both him and his father were competent and passionate Ford men. I remember helping someone with a burnt out rod on his T in a hotel carpark. We...

Re: 3.27 Gear without an Overdrive

Running one in my Coupe. Love it. Tempted to fit my close ratio gearbox too.

600 mile round trip to race at Pendine. Mainly country lanes up hill and down dale, with a few forays onto bigger...
