Inflation and falling purchasing power certainly have roles in the going price these days, and there is a lot more seller competition in the online marketplace as well. Sellers in the 80's were a bit...

Re: Oil Pan Storage
There's probably something a bit more refined than this, but I've used wheel bearing grease to protect bare metal I did not intend to paint. May be good for the inside of your pan.
Good luck!

Re: How to prevent frozen manifold nuts?
Lots of cool tips here about the torque values, stick form of copper anti-seize, and now the proper fit of studs. Hadn't thought of any of it, but glad to have been informed. Let me try to add one...

Re: Movies with A's
I don't watch too many movies, but I saw "Ramblin' Rose" (Robert Duvall) the other day. Lots of Model As in that one!

Re: Air Compressor Help
It doesn't sound like you are planning on doing any major work, so that compressor should prove to be handy. It will do fine with intermittent use; topping up tires, impact wrench, air ratchet, etc....

Re: Engine oil pan dipper trays
I've used hydrochloric acid (aka muriatic acid) to dissolve rust inside fuel tanks, but that is nasty stuff. Electrolytic rust removal sounds like a good idea to me; perhaps it would be a good...

Re: Engine balance during install
Just to add to your point, some method of including the passenger side head studs would be necessary to avoid a side load on the plug bolts. The commercial puller in the first post and the one...

Re: Engine balance during install
Sounds good, thanks for the heads up. I found a couple pictures and see what you mean.
Seems like this is the consensus on the importance of balance. Not critical; but helpful to be close.

Re: Engine balance during install
Great stuff, Dave. That's the heart of it. Thanks! Are the dimensions what they appear to be?... meaning; the upright plate is about 3/8" to the right of the front middle and rear middle head studs?

Hello all,
I'm a new guy here and a new owner of a '29 Tudor. This seems like a great forum and I'm excited to participate.
Using some design ideas from Gord's and Jason in TX's head...
