Lads, Good points. I'll replace the bearing on spec. Another comment was that the metals used recently on the bolts are not good ole US hardened steel. I believe the supplier clutches are made...

Time is no friend. Pam and I were talking yesterday that sometime down the road one of the cars will have to go; the A or the Healey. I think the AH will be the first to go when the time comes.

Every event with our Model A and Austin Healey have been cancelled for 2020. Next winter in AZ to escape the snow and -40 is out of the question at this point. The solution: a vaccine.

Bob, your 100 % correct! The V8 site talks about giving the pins a little blast of the welder at both ends to ensure they will never work their way out.

Fixed !! it was one of the three V8 clutch fingers. It had un pinned / displaced itself from the pressure plate so when the throw out bearing was pushed forward, only 2 of the 3 fingers were moving...

Yes ! I have used them for years. Use a palm sander and place it against the stem; the vibration will allow the beads to fall into the stem / tube without any problem.

Tube Failures Metal Stem 21" Made in EEC

I have experienced three tube failures with metal stem tubes 21" marked "MADE IN EEC".

Has anyone experienced similar problems with these tubes and are the Dealers still selling tubes from EEC?

A friend had a similar problem. It only sprayed only while climbing up a hill and "pouring the coals to it". It was the water pump; somehow it would suck air through the shaft and only when stressed....
