Switch could be bad. But thatís not gonna cause noise. Are the 1 speeds you have only on the Hi position. ?

I just done the one in my 40. Sounds like the same heater. Runs forward for heat and reverse for defrost. I disassembled the motor and cleaned the commutator on the armature and oiled the bearings....

I found this information in some Ford literature I have. Iíll look for it . Some drums have fins on them and have a notch on one of the fins.

I don’t understand how the glass can come out of the channel . Could it be the glass is too small ?? Maybe the door panel is too thick ?

You’ll have to remove the instrument cluster then take it apart and reposition the needle to zero. The needle is a push fit on the shaft.

My Zephyr heading to its new home. Not an easy decision but Sometimes you just gotta let go . Still have my 40 Fords and enjoying them. Looking for a good original 40 Standard coupe.

I’d try changing the oil in the transmission. That also gives you a look at the old oil . If synchronizes are worn you should see it in the oil.
