Re: What is Engine 'Break-in'??
That shows how little he knows. Unlike rebuilt Model-A engines, racing engines do not come with any warranty expressed or implied.

Re: Changing of the Guard
Mike you are very correct. I know you guys have heard me say this before, but when I was about 6 years old, my father and some other men founded the Houston TX Model-A club. I was 'all-in' on...

Re: Changing of the Guard
Bob, what you speak of has some merit however allow me to add some perspective from my side of the fence.
1) The cost of restoration work is very expensive however every restoration shop you...

As others have attested to above, I do like thought provocation as it does make me think of better ways of doing things.

Re: What is Engine 'Break-in'??
This is not really an accurate statement. As I mentioned above, technology has changed immensely, so people should not assume anything. Ford engineers were dealing with several differences between...

Re: What is Engine 'Break-in'??
This is a sign of poor engine machining where the journal pin is not truly round, -and/or has taper from a plunge grinding with a worn machine. Often times, engine rebuilders will assemble an engine...

Re: What is Engine 'Break-in'??
Unfortunately you are leaving out several things in forming your opinion. When you factor in the quality of lubrication has changed immensely over time, the wear additives in modern engine oil alone...

What is Engine 'Break-in'??
I engaged in a small post on social media where several people were recommending to a hobbyist that a rebuilt engine needs to go thru a 'break-in', ..and (more emphatically) during that time, the...

Re: Lifetime of Distributor Points ?
Jim, your question is like asking 'How long does it take to catch a fish??'
By you replacing the points at 2,000 miles is like changing the engine oil at 200 miles because it was a ½ quart low. ...
