I found an after market tank for a 55 bird. the filler neck was to long but that awas an easy fix I got it from my local parts store

53 merc block its a good one 30 over bore 30 over bore pistons and rods included
the crank has been turned 20 mains 10 rods
Australian cam same as L100
Johnson lifters
have pan water pumps...

I do agree it is a carburetor problem it was rebuilt 17 years ago.
Who is a good carburetor man ? I have several cores one is from a mercury, I could send a core .
